Udom’s Aide Resigns…May Defect To Opposition Party


The Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Electoral Matters ( Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District), Barr Chris Okorie has resigned from his appointment.

The decision according him borne of the fact that he has not been given a sense of direction and belonging since his appointment.

In his resignation letter sent to Governor Udom Emmanuel through the Secretary of the State, Barr Okorie stated that after twenty months of his appointment, he has not been given an office space, or assigned any duty commensurate with his status and pedigree.

He also mentioned that the Governor has not provided him with basic work tools since his appointment, noting that there may not be hope that the situation will improve in the nearest future.

Barr Okorie who was the former council chairman of Essien Udim local government area was given the appointment in December 2015 as the Special Assistant to Governor Udom Emmanuel on Electoral Matters( Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District).

However, pundits have described the action of the former Governor’s Aide as a clear sign to defect to the opposition party to have a safe landing in the forth coming local government election in the state.
