The National Youth Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Akwa Ibom State has called on security agencies to ensure that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is stopped from mudslinging President Muhammadu Buhari and its governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom State, Obong Nsima Ekere.
The group made this known while addressing newsmen on current attacks the APC in the state is receiving from the PDP
Noting that such action was capable of provoking the APC youths, the Chairman, APC National Youths Caucus, Akwa Ibom State, Obong Iniobong John, noted that it was unacceptable for the PDP to continue insulting the President and the APC governorship candidate, Obong Nsima Ekere as part of its campaign strategy.
Obong Iniobong who called on the PDP to live with its frustration, the lackluster performance of the present administration has visited on them maintained that it is not the fault of the APC that the people of Akwa Ibom have chosen to go with APC and support it to victory in 2019.
John explained that PDP should be halted by the security agencies in their latest bid to disparage Buhari through its media outlet.
According to the Chairman, the security agencies should not allow public protests set up by the PDP to insult APC leaders as this could lead to unwarranted clashes between supporters of the two parties.
In his address, the secretary of the APC National Youth Caucus, Barr. Imoh Akpan said planned protests organized by PDP is only a part of the provocative actions so far exhibited by the party.
He said only last week, a billboard space fully paid for by the APC was denied the Party by the State Government.
According to him it is the height of intolerance for the State Government to stop the APC from displaying its own campaign materials at locations it has fully paid for and obtained receipts.
Barr. Akpan called on all stakeholders to caution the PDP as its actions are capable of causing breakdown of law and order.
