Reach Out Table Tennis Championship Ends

The National Table Tennis open championship organized by Christ Embassy has been concluded in Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State Capital. The Pastor in charge of the Church in Uyo, Pastor Emeka Nnabuko in his speech expressed confidence that this year’s competition will go along way to boost the standard of table tennis game in the country. He also congratulated the winners of this year and urged them to double up efforts in their training in order to represent the nation in the future International Table Tennis Championship.

Pastor Emeka commented on what he termed as lack of patriotism by Nigerians urging that people should embrace the spirit of patriotism in all forms of life, believing that such will change Nigeria for better. In appreciation, the Winner of the Men’s Single, Ajetunmobi Seon thanked Reach Out Nigeria for organizing the yearly event. He noted with joy that the championship will continue to discover talents for the country, charging the up coming players to take advantage of the Reach Out Table Tennis open yearly championship to prepare for future international competitions.

The Winner of the Women’s Single, Cicilia Akpan from Cross River State also expressed appreciation to the church for the opportunity accorded them to showcase their talents and hoped to retain the title  in 2014 edition of the championship. N400,000 and N200,000 cheques were given to Seon and Akpan respectively while others also went home with other prizes at the event. The championship which was adjudged as the best table tennis event in the country featured professionals within and outside the country.
