NDDC Restates Commitment To Partner With Akwa Ibom Govt


The Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Mr. Nsima Ekere, has restated the commitment of the commission to partner with the Akwa Ibom State Government for the development of the state.
He spoke on Saturday at Christ True Gospel Mission, Ibesit Ekoi in Oruk Anam Local Government Area, during the solemnization of marriage between Engr. Akanimo Jackson Ekaidem, son of a popular industrialist and General Overseer of the church, Rev. Jackson Ekaidem (JackyJay), and Barr. Nsikan Imoh Imoh, daughter of a seasoned lawyer and politician from Abak Local Government Area, Barr. Imoh Imoh.
Ekere was emphatic that he was always prepared to partner with the State Government in the interest of the people which was paramount.
“As Managing Director, I will continue to do what I can to partner with the State Government in the interest of Akwa Ibom people,” he said. “Akwa Ibom belongs to all of us and we cannot afford to allow anything to come between us and the opportunity that God has given us to impact on Akwa Ibom State. We will continue to do anything that will benefit the people of Akwa Ibom State and the Niger Delta region.”
The NDDC boss said the wedding was unique as it had served to bring him together with the State Government through the Deputy Governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo, who was present.
He congratulated the new couple on their wedding and prayed for God’s blessings on them.
Ekere traced his long-standing relationship with the father of the bride back to their secondary school days and expressed delight that Imoh was giving out his daughter in marriage.
At the church, special prayers were offered for Ekere by Ekaidem and the Village Head of Ibesit Ekoi, Chief Monday Udousoro.
Among dignitaries present were a former Petroleum Resources Minister, Atuekong Don Etiebet, the Akwa Ibom State Chairman of All Progressives’ Congress (APC), Dr. Amadu Atai, a former Deputy State Chairman of Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Essien Ibok, and a former Akwa Ibom North-West PDP Senatorial Chairman, Chief Soni Udom.
