A consensus councillorship aspirant in Eket local government, Urban 4, Mr. Peter Alfred of the All Progressive Congress (APC) has stated that the era when the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State dominated the political space will soon come to an end.

He stated this during a consultation visit to the Urban ward 4 Executives of the All Progressive Congress yesterday in Eket to seek for their endorsement as the consensus candidate for the Nov. 11th local government elections.

Mr. Peter Alfred who shares the same ward with the state PDP treasurer, Barr. Akpadiaha Ebitu and holds a Bachelor in Chemistry from the prestigious University of Uyo, said Akwa Ibom State in the hands of the All Progressive Congress (APC) will provide succor to the electorate in all ramification, because they feel their pangs.

He called on A’Ibomites to come out en-mass to vote out the Peoples Democratic Party in the upcoming LG election to prove to the PDP that they have lost value in the State.

“To protect our right, lets rise and send this people (PDP) out of this state to prove that we are the owners of the mandate”

“We are the ones who aided them to win elections, we own the grassroots. One with the grassroots is a majority” – he added.

On his aspiration, he said he has capacity and the needed prowess to offer effective representation of the ward in the legislative council.

He vowed to resist any form of election malpractices introduced by the umpires (AKISIEC) to favour the ruling party in the state.

Alfred promised to deliver dividends of the democracy to the ward if voted into office.

Responding to the call, the ward chairman, Mr. Ubong Udo Etukudo said he was so impressed by the aspirant’s courageous moves to represent the people despite the wide spread ronour that Akwa Ibom State government has plans to rig the election in favour of the PDP.

He warned AKISIEC not to do anything that will turn the once achieved state of utopia in Eket into a chaotic state.

He concluded that the aspirant is trusted in his delivery capacity, urging him to embark on rigorous campaign to achieve his goal.

The Urban ward 4 Executives of the APC unanimously agreed that Peter Alfred remains their consensus candidate and they will support him till the later.
