A university don and renowned Communication Scholar, Prof. Des Wilson has condemned the recent media report linking him to an allegation against Senator Godswill Akpabio who is now Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria plotted to assassinate him in the wake of 2011 general election.
It would be recalled that an online medium, Trailreporters.com had in a recent report, said that Prof. Wilson revealed to journalists how he escaped two assassination attempt, one in Abuja and another one in his house in Uyo.
But reacting to the report, Prof. Wilson who is an Oramedia guru, expressed shock over the report, saying he had never granted interview to journalists not to talk of making allegation against Senator Akpabio even when the former was a governor of the State.
Wilson who chided Trailreporters.com for the false report, noted that there was no such plot but an imagination of those who want to tarnish his hard earned reputation in order to score cheap political points and gain peanuts from the sponsors”.
Meanwhile, condemnations have continued to trial the activities of mischief makers especially those at the corridor of powers in the State whose stock in trade is to embark on blackmail against Senator Godswill Akpabio.
Reacting to the assassination report by Trailreporters.com, Mr. Uwem Otu said that the report is not only false but a fiction of imagination targeted at running down the distinguish Senator. Otu noted that no amount of blackmail will deter Senator Akpabio from ensuring that All Progressives Congress, APC take over government in the State, come 2019.
Also condemning the report by Trailreporters.com, Mr. Umoh Abraham, said that senator Akpabio does not deserve the blackmail and character assassination embarked by those that he raised from dust and made them be counted among men. He equally said that Akpabio as a leader of an international repute, deserve to be respected.
Abraham called on the blackmailers to repent or face the wrath of God, adding that God will give Senator Akpabio the grace.
