APC Ready To Win 2019 Guber Poll – Udoedeghe, Ita Enang, Etiebet It’s… As Party Holds LG Congresses


The Local Government Congresses of the Akwa Ibom State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have been successfully conducted in the 31 Local Government Areas of the state.
The exercise conducted on Saturday was monitored by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), officials from the national secretariat of APC and journalists.
Newsmen gathered that the exercise was devoid of irregularities.
Briefing journalists before the commencement of the congresses, party chieftains including the Senior Special Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly Matters – Senate, Senator Ita Enang reiterated APC’s resolve to promoting democratic virtues and sustaining the peace pact between members of the party.
“The persons conducting the congresses are leaving to respective Local Government Areas having received all the materials. I want to keep assuring all that it is going to be peaceful and I want to reiterate that the peace made by all the stakeholders in the APC is solid, intact, impregnable and permanently on. All interests have been harmonized”, he explained.
Senator Enang commended members of the party for conducting themselves lawfully and implored them to maintain such attitude.
A former Minister of former Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Senator John James Akpanudoedehe expressed belief that APC is on the right track.
“We’ve come together to be one political party. We don’t want to win the war; we want to win the peace because of the interest of the party”, Udodehe declared.
Senator Nelson Effiong who represents Eket Senatorial District in Nigeria’s Senate assured members of the party that “all the way to the national convention, there will not be crisis in Akwa Ibom APC.”
Effiong charged the electorate to register during the ongoing voter registration exercise and get their Permanent Voter Card which would enable them elect leaders of their choice in 2019.
Other chieftains including Senator Alloysius Etok, Chief Sunny Jackson, Barr. Asuquo Okpo, Dr. Rachel Akpabio, spoke glowingly of the chances of APC winning in 2019.
Bigwigs of the party including Obong Nsima Ekere, Senator John Udoedehe, Obong Umana Okon Umana, Chief Don Etiebet, Senator Nelson Effiong, Chief Sunny Jackson, had earlier converged at the Uyo residence of Senator Ita Enang for a closed door meeting.
Speaking with reporters, a member of the party in Etinan, Mr. Ekereuwem Essien, said: “everything went well because the congress covers the interest of the people. This is a wonderful development in our great party.”
In Uyo, Mr. Charles Edet thanked the principal stakeholders of the party for agreeing to work in unison for the progress of the party.
In Ikot Ekpene, a frontline chieftain of the party, Chief Sunny Ibanga, said: “the congress was very peaceful, I thank the people of Ikot Ekpene for the manner they conducted themselves. APC is here to stay.”
