Account For Looted Council Funds, Etiebet Tells Udom

Since All Progressive Congress (APC) hurricane tore the PDP and other parties apart in Akwa Ibom, at the weekend when it held its local government election flag-off in Uyo and attracted a mammoth crowd, more Akwa Ibom citizens are moving over to the ruling party.
At Oruk Anam on Monday during the handing over of flags to councillorship candidate Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ukoette officially decamped from the PDP to APC with thousands of decampees.
The decampees were officially received by the State Chairman of the APC, Dr. Amadu Attai.
Addressing the mammoth crowd at Oruk Anam, a former Minister and Chieftain of the APC, Atuekong Don Etiebet told the people that with the large crowd which attended the flag-off at Uyo, it was clear to even the doubting Thomas, that APC has taken over Akwa Ibom State.
He assured them that their votes during the local government election will count, encouraging them to come out enmasse and vote for APC candidates.
The former Minister drew the attention of the people to the fact that from 2015 to 2017, Oruk Anam local government received N3.7billion as allocation saying there is nothing in the local government to show that such amount of money has been given to run the local government.
He called on Governor Udom Emmanuel to immediately account for all the monies received by Oruk Anam local government since he became Governor in 2015.
Atuekong Etiebet alleged that Udom’s brother inlaw who has been the Transition Committee Chairman defrauded the funds of the local government council.
In an address at the event, the APC State chairman, Dr. Amadu Attai noted that Oruk Anam is key in the political equation of Akwa Ibom State.
According to him this will show in the local government election because APC must win in Oruk Anam.
He added that with the mass defections to APC from PDP. It is certain that Udom Emmanuel must go in 2019.
Also speaking at the event, the Member Representing Ukanafun/Oruk Anam in the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. (Hon.) Emmanuel Ukoette urged the party faithful to love one another because this will propel the party to victory in all elections.
Maintaining that APC must win in all the wards of Oruk Anam, he noted that stakeholders will not sleep until APC captures the entire local government.
Some dignitaries at the event included Hon. Dr. Umo Essien, Former Council Chairman, Hon. Ekperikpe Ekpo, Obong Kufre Inyangette, Mr. Tony Akpan- Chapter Chairman, Hon. Enobong Ntukidem, Hon. (Dr.) Udoma Bob Ekarika, Hon. Sunny Udom and Mrs. Mabel Udonwo.
In a similar development, thousand of decampees from PDP moved to APC in Abak LGA.
A former PDP stalwart in Abak, Zion Umoh who led the decampees said with the number of persons who decamped the era of PDP is over in Abak.
He said the people of Abak have rejected the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Moses Ekpo because he has failed to impact positively on the life of the people either as individuals or collectively.
