2019: Ukanafun PDP Declares Support For Udom

As the 2019 general elections in Nigeria gather momentum, the entire leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Ukanafun (both Chapter and ward) have declared their total support for Governor Udom Emmanuel. They have also promised to work to return the governor for a second term in office.

The decision of the party executives was taken and affirmed on Monday when they paid a courtesy call on the Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Obong Udo Ekpeyong in his office.

The PDP Chieftains led by Ukanafun Chapter Chairman, Magnus Akpan said that the governor has been able to better the lives of the people, and as well carry Ukanafun people along in his administration through appointments into key positions of authority, thus, the unanimous support of the party and call for him to go for a second term in office.

The party executives particularly expressed appreciation to the governor for appointing Obong Udo Ekpeyong as commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs. The party executives described Obong Ekpeyong as a politician per excellence who has what it takes to deliver Ukanafun totally for PDP come 2019.

Pouring encomiums on Obong Ekpeyong, the party commended him for the excellent work he did in the state as chairman of congress committee which resulted in the election of ward, chapter and state executives.

In their separate speeches, the PDP, state organizing officer, Obong Saturday Akpan, Chairman of Ward Chairmen in Ukanafun, Mr. Sunday Nelson, the Chapter Woman Leader, Mrs. Stella Effiong Iwok, and the youth leader, Mr. Ubon Senas Ukpanah, all pledged the loyalty of the party to the administration of governor Udom Emmanuel.

They also promised general mobilization of Ukanafun people for PDP and assured one hundred percent to PDP.

UKpanah in particular said that youths of Ukanafun are solidly behind the governor.

Responding, the state commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Obong Udo Ekpeyong thanked the party leadership for the visit and show of solidarity to the governor.

Obong Ekpeyong particularly praised them for working as a team in the interest of Ukanafun people and PDP. He charged them to continue to maintain peace and unity in the area.

The former national officer of the party used the visit to call on members of the party in Ukanafun to respect the leaders noting that one day, they will also be leaders.

Obong Ekpeyong who is also a former Ukanafun Council Chairman and former Political Adviser to the administration of Obong Victor Attah, called on them to continue to support all the chapter executive and Ward Chairman, dressed in a unique attire during the visit.
